Northwestern REC holds nominating meetings in the early spring time. In 2016, the following Cooperative member was elected by the membership to serve on Board of Directors. His term will last three years.
Jack Sheffer, District 1
William J. Sheffer known as “Jack” to everyone, has resided in Franklin Township since 1941. After graduating from Edinboro High School he served in the US Air Force for 4 years. He then took up his family’s dairy farm and worked building construction for 12 years. He worked at Eriez Magnetics as an assembler for 18 years and retired at 62.
He is involved in many community services: He “rings the bell” for the Salvation Army at Christmas and for the last 3 years has been involved at Wesley Woods in helping to get the camp ready for summer campers. He has been a member of the Elk Creek Grange for 10 years and currently holds the position of “Master”. Jack is a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
He is married to Judy and has 2 sons and 1 daughter, 2 step-sons, 1 grandchild and 10 step-grandchildren. Jack has maintained Co-op electric service for over 50 years. Board elections take place during Northwestern REC’s Annual Meeting.
