District 7: Sparta, Rome, Oil Creek, Steuben, and Troy townships and Centerville Borough in Crawford County and Southwest and Eldred townships in Warren County.

Northwestern REC holds nominating meetings in the early spring time. In 2017, the following Cooperative member was elected to serve as District 7 director. His term will last three years. Elections take place during the Annual Meeting.

 

Dave Rectenwald, Board Vice Chair

 

Long time Titusville resident, Mr. David Rectenwald, was first elected to the Northwestern Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s Board of Directors in 2005. He currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Northwestern REC Board and has previously served as Board Secretary. He is a Credentialed Cooperative Director and has obtained his Board Leadership Certification.

Mr. Rectenwald received a Bachelor’s degree in Geology (minor of Physics) from Allegheny College and a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from Gannon University. He also received a Certificate in Environmental and Occupational Science from Gannon University. Mr. Rectenwald is employed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency as an Environmental Scientist. Prior to this position, he served as an inspector and consultant for the US EPA. Also during this time, David held scientist positions with companies out of Massachusetts and Maryland. After graduating from Allegheny College, Mr. Rectenwald worked as store manager for the Republic Supply Company in Titusville.

Mr. Rectenwald serves on the board of the Crawford Area Transportation Authority, as Treasurer for the Titusville Rod and Gun Club and is a past President of the Titusville YMCA Board of Directors.

David resides in the Titusville area, is married to Amy Murphy Rectenwald, and has six children Amanda, Andy, Edward, Robbie, Ginger and Charlie.
